Guardian Consent

How a parent or legal guardian gives consent before a child under 14 joins Bondtrail.

1

Who may give consent

Only an adult with lawful authority for the child.

A Bondtrail member who is at least 18 may provide guardian consent only if they are the child's parent or legal guardian and have lawful authority to consent for that child. Members under 18 cannot use the Add a Child feature or consent for another person.

The adult identifies the child, selects their relationship and chooses a Circle that the adult already belongs to. Bondtrail checks the child's age, phone number, Circle membership and the adult's account eligibility before allowing the consent to proceed.

2

Reviewing the consent

The current terms are displayed in full before signing.

The app retrieves the current guardian consent directly from Bondtrail's server. It shows the document title, every numbered section and the electronic-signature attestation. The adult must review the document, confirm their parental or legal guardian authority and expressly agree before continuing.

The consent explains the child's participation in the selected Circle, account creation, the information Bondtrail processes, location and safety features, who may receive information, the adult's choices and the effect of withdrawal.

3

Electronic signature and email confirmation

Full legal name plus a one-time email code.

The adult types their legal first and last name as an electronic signature. The name must match the name on their Bondtrail profile. Bondtrail then sends a six-digit, single-use verification code to the email address already associated with that profile.

The adult must enter the code before it expires. Requesting another email code invalidates the earlier one. Bondtrail records the signed time, typed name, confirmed email address and the consent text identifier needed to reproduce what was accepted.

4

The child's Guardian Code

It is not an ordinary Circle Invite Code.

After the signature is confirmed, Bondtrail creates a child-bound, single-use Guardian Code and sends it to the child's phone. The app shows the code's expiry. The child uses it with their own phone number to review the named guardian and join the associated Circle.

A Guardian Code must be shared only with the child named in the consent. Reissuing a code replaces the previous unused code. A child under 14 cannot use an ordinary Circle Invite Code as a substitute for guardian consent.

5

Consent records and later choices

Both the guardian and Bondtrail keep a record.

After a successful signature, Bondtrail emails the guardian a PDF receipt. It includes the guardian's signature and verified email information, the child, Circle and guardianship details, the signing time, and the exact consent terms and attestation accepted by the guardian.

The guardian can also review the relationship in the app under Settings → Privacy & Legal → Consent Records. A guardian may withdraw consent or request deletion through the available app controls or by contacting legal@bondtrail.app. When the child turns 14, the child must make their own consent choices before sensitive processing and sharing continue.
